Top 10 Richest DC/Marvel Superhero Movies of All Time

(2 minute read)

How much do superhero movies make? Let's be real, any creator that works on a superhero movie can't wait to cash their next paycheck because it's going to be a lot. For big-budget movies, Time.com reports that camera operators make up to $154,000 a year. Big budgets should mean two things: A-list actors and a world-class camera crew. Outside of The Dark Knight series, DC superhero films haven't been able to capitalize on this profitable business, so you will notice many have failed to reach the top 10.

Coming in at #1, we all can understand how Avengers: Infinity War earned its place at the top. There was so much hype leading up to this massive Hollywood hit this summer that it comes at no surprise that tickets would sell like crazy. According to IMDB, this movie's opening weekend in the US grossed over $257 million, enabling Marvel Studios and the whole production crew to already make back 80% of its insane $321 million estimated budget costs.

Fun fact. We could add up the net profits for both The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, and it would still be lower than that of Infinity War. Its a little surprising to me to see how Deadpool and Spiderman: Homecoming made their way into the ranking. Both were pretty recent films and even beat out all the X-Men films, including Logan. Can't wait to see the numbers for Infinity War Part 2 coming out early next summer in 2019.
