No spoilers in this post. Take a look at this video clip from Netflix's Altered Carbon (TV Series) - Warning: Strong language, NSFW
Before I break down this clip, I just want to say a few things...
When I had first created this blog, I immediately thought of this scene and how cool it looked visually. Imagine analyzing something with your mind or dictating commands to Siri to locate your friend on social media. Imagine telekinesis through a computer.
In fact some of the technology we have right now is already moving in that direction. See all the work that is being done with Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality. Even the Microsoft Surface Studio looks quite futuristic with its giant canvas and accompanying Surface Dial that can generate beautiful digital sketches in real time.
In this clip from the original Netflix series Altered Carbon, the main character, Takeshi Kovac, is looking for his client's killer, so he enters into his "ONI" (Online Network Interface) to filter for the information that he needs. His ONI has a database of over 3,578 videos to sift through.
Here I'm going to break down each step of his process, which is essentially the mindset that any good analyst would do to get to the bottom of what he or she needs to fine. Whether you're a business analyst or a forensic scientist, I'm pretty sure this process is similar to your Day to Day.
This is pretty much what we do when we perform any type of web search or Excel work but WAY cooler. Anyone know if this works for video yet?
